I fished 2 places today one was a little farmpond that i was kicked off of after about 30 minutes.....Looked like a pretty good pond...saw one pretty large bass cruising maybe 4 pounds. The ones i caught were maybe 2 pounders. Then I took my jonboat out and headed to a small private lake and fished my Arse off and only landed one Bass a 2 pounds...The funny thing about this fish is it took a a pretty large saltwater baitfish pattern and gave me a decent little fight....I got it in the boat and took my fly out of its lip and noticed another a piece of mono and just the eye of a hook protruding from it stomach...I took my hemostats and very gentle tried to remove the hook with out damaging the fish. After a little work i got most of the hook out.....Then i pulled gently and started seeing a green thing coming out of the stomach and was all pissed thinking it was some stomach lining or organ and i had pretty much killed the fish....Well to my surprise it was a Zoom salamander with the hook and everything still attached. I put the bass back in the water and kinda nursed it back so it was getting water in the gills..then it darted away. So even though I only caught one fish...I probably saved it life!! Cause they is no way it could have made it much longer with a 2/0 hook in its gut and a plastic worm!

Here are some pics

Hey there flyguy, great report. That was a lucky hit on getting that lure out of that fish's gut. You succeeded where another angler had obviously failed. Now maybe that poor bass can hold down his chow. [Tongue]

Your pic's, however, didn't come through. I'll post directions at the head of this board and make it a sticky. Posting pictures can be tricky without a little direction at first. [Smile] Keep up the great fishing and conservation! If all anglers and boaters would follow suit, fishing would be alot better for everyone.

Hey, those are some cool pic's flyguy! Is that bottom right pic the lure you got out of that bass? Thanks for taking the time to share your photo's. It's nice to know that someone is catching something somewhere. It's been a slow going season for me. I've had one good trip and the rest have been a test of my witts. LOL, but it'll get better. Infact, next trip, I have pretty high hopes. [cool]

So do you go for tarpon much?? Ive heard that Bulls bay holds some. If you ever go for Tarpon...You have to invite me!! I got some Killer Tarpon flies im itching to try out.

I have targeted Tarpon in the past, but fishing out of MI now, there isn't alot of Tarpon fishing to look foward too. Georgetown holds a few tarpon, but nothing like florida and surrounding areas. I have hooked tarpon at the inshore reef. But, not being rigged for them, it didn't last long. Usually ends up in a throwed hook. [Sad]
