Hey JL,

I think there is plenty of good advice and info for fishing this weekend. To get things started, there are a few questions that need to be answered first to give us a point of reference to start with.

Will you be fishing along a river, from lake shore, or out of a boat?

Is there a certian type of fish you prefer to target (trout, bass, etc) or would you be happy to catch just anything?

What general area do you live in and what area of the state would you like to fish at?

What is your fishing background?

Oh .... and by they way, [#0000ff]WELCOME to BFT UTAH ! ![/#0000ff]

Northern utah trout, Mantua and hyrum are just ice free and fishing should be decent. Bear lake might get you some big cutts and a mack or two. Walleye may be good at willard or utah lake. Like coot said, you kind of need to be more specific to the area you want to fish, species, and your gear restrictions. Lots of times we know what we want but forget to post it and the info becomes hard to answer and pretty much usless to you. Theres still some ice out there but you will have to drive for it if thats what you want to do. Lots of good river fishing as well. Most guys here utilize the lakes though.

Thank you for you kindness. I live in Salt lake city, U of Utah. Due to the constriction of Univeristy department , I can't own a boat. Could you guys show me some places with in 2hrs drive and don't have to fishing on boat?

thanks

BTW: I went Utah lake this afternoon. The wind is so strong that I almost can not close the door of my car. Is it always windy in utah lake?
