we need a little more discription of your superworm.

different places have different names for the same critter.

south america has an earth worm vary simmilar to our own that when not streched is 4 feet long, but when streched they are in excess of twenty feet in lenth. they look like a regular earth worm, just supper sized..."you want fries with that?"

I've never tried 'superworms', but if you're talking about the worms Dave is describing... I'm not sure I want to try them! Hopefully someone has tried them and can chime in with their results!

Is it a giant mealworm? I think ghans cricket farm sells them but they are more for feeding lizards and such than for fishing. Im sure they'd work fine on a number 8 bait hook if your fishing for panfish.

LOL, no way dude. I want one of those 2' long ones DaveT is talking about to stick on a catfish hook alive. That would be just nasty. [Tongue]

I was looking at crickets today, and your right, it would seem that a number of cricket suppliers deal withsuper worms.

now that I have seen what one looks like, I can say I did buy one can of them and they went to waist on me. didnt catch a thing with them. [center]

I found you can slip your hook between body plates, the plates are quite hard and crunchy. "no wonder lizards like them, thier like popcorn to them" any one for a good movie. I tried from head covering the hook. I tried just going under a couple plates like a crawler, I tried from the tail up. didnt matter how I hooked them the fish were not interested. I did find that you will want a long shank arbordeen wire hook,

I will stick to using nice jucy live crickets that oozes when a fish nibbles enticeing them to swallow...
