I finally got the cobwebs off my fishing equipment and had a wonderful opportunity to fish with my fishing buddy who had been sick for months.
We attacked Deer Creek early morning before the power squadron could ruin our day. We went bottom dancing for those enclusive walleyes. We scored quite a few eyes. I caught several walleyes and lost several of them (plus a largemouth bass on a BB WHICH IS WIERD!). My buddy caught quite a few eyes! My buddy's father who is a trout purist caught two nice large rainbow trout plus a bonus smallie. We fished from early dawn til noon.
There was a few power squadron plying the lake, I was pleasantly surprised that we fishermen had the lake mostly all to ourselves all morning! That itself was a big surprise because memorial day tend to bring out the worst in those types of people who like to destroy our fishing days!
It was a nice morning out on the DC and it sure felt good to have the fishing touch in check just before going out to lake powell next week! Yahooooooooo!
