Finally made it out fishing with the boys today. Actually, I had all 5 kids as the wife was away doing memorial day stuff with her mom and grandma.
Left our house in Orem at 7 pm and went to Vivian Park up Provo Canyon and let the 3 boys loose with powerbait and salmon eggs. Little planters were visible in the water and it wasn't too long before one of my 6 year old twins had his first one on. Its his first solo fish, meaning that he got his own pole ready, baited his own hook, casted his bait out there and reeled it in all by his lonesome. Considering that we only go fishing a few times a year I thought he did pretty good. He was quite proud. Took a picture, but it's a film camera so don't have it to share.
A little while later my 8 year old had one on too but lost it at the bank. Fishing picked up quite a bit after 8 and the boys reeled in several more. All fish must have been from the recent stocking an none was bigger than 9 ot 10 inches. Left at 9 only because the girls were getting cold, boys sure had a good time though.
