so this time we decided to hit a new spot up at stewarts point and found much better success. still no shad, no boils, just a few fish slappin the surface from time to time. had two fish on the stringer in the first 30 min of bein there before the sun came up. stayed until around 10, catching about 10-12 fish and keeping 5. two of them were good sized stripers, very fun to bring in on the lightweight rods and tackle ive been going with lately. heres a couple pictures...

nice job on the stripers. I want to get back up to overton in the next couple of weeks. My wife and i went out the weekend before memorial day and camped out just left of the Echo bay marina. We paddled out in the kayak, and fished from shore all night. the fishing was slow all night. We caught one small striper and one small catfish from 7pm til midnight. I went to sleep and got up at 4 to start fishing again. Good campout though. sorry no pics. Keep up the good work!

my dad and i used to fish echo bay all the time, off the shore north of the campgrounds, but when i drove by for the first time this year i was disgusted at how that whole area was dry now. the new fishing dock they put in is almost out of water to fish in, its crazy.
your trip sounds like a great time, paddling around and fishin through the night.
