[#505000]The above link is an interesting read on the status of the June Sucker (AKA Walleye feeding) program.[/#505000]

They really need to have some kind of bounty on the carp there. Even if they (or we) have a carp derby, that would be a blast. I would show up with my bow and get a few others along also.
I know that this mercury thing has put a damper on their efforts to sell carp but there are other disposal methods. Many being fertilizer.

Silly suckers. It sounds like they are making some progress though...Feed more walleyes!

Hmmmm would you want them for fertilizer in your homr garden? I sure don't want carp made into commercial fertilizer for farmers. Think back about the tainted dog and cat food. Where did it end up after the recall. In OUR food supply as it was sold dirt cheap to farmers for feed for the hogs and chickens.
Best bet is to continue the program and bury the carp out in the west desert. No harm and we wont sell the foul. [sly]

[#505000]From my understanding mercury has never been an issue in Utah Lake, just the PBC's. Frankly from what I've read there isn't any real proof whether PBC's are harmful or not.[/#505000]

[#505000]I very much doubt they would be problematic in a garden.[/#505000]
