Hit the Rock Cliff area of Jordanelle Friday evening and again Saturday Morning.
To say the fishing was anything but slow would be a true misrepresentation of fishing there.
Having said that Trout fishing is fairly consistant. You wont be setting the place on fire, but you'll catch enough fish to keep you interested.
I was targetting perch and smallies. Fri. I hit the rock around 6:30 pm and fishied until dark. At that time I kicked back off the water. No perch no bass. 2 dinky bows was all I could manage. The wifey was happy with the catch. I on the other hand was a little dissapointed. Three plus hours of fishing one of my favorite holes and all I came up with where 2 tiny fish (largest not even 12 inches).
So back I go on Sat. bright and early (well for me anyway). I launch around 6:00 am and fish until 3:00 pm. Pretty much the same results as Friday evenings trip. Right off the bat I pick up 3 bows in the 1st 45 minutes. I'm thinking this is gonna be much better today. Not to be. I managed one 4 in. perch that I used for bait. Not another fish the rest of the day. I guess I shoulld have gone trout fishing. As I was kicking back in I tied on a fly that TD tied for me. Have never used these before at Jordanelle. Was dragging it behind (in front of) the tube and bam! Fish on. Not a monster by any measures around 14 in. I let her go and start kicking back to the ramp. As I'm passing through the floatilla of anchored boats Bam another lil trout. This is barely 10 in, that big ole long shank gold and black fly looked silly hangin out of it's mouth. Well folks that was it for 2 days of fishing. Sorry I only have one picture to share. The wife used the camera friday for one of her mystery shop adventures. She didn't bother to mention that the batteries were dead. So I packed a useless carmera all day. Now I'm really bumed the one picture I thought I had isn't on the camera. Guess it's time to buy her her own digital.
