Can someone tell me what kind of fish this is? Not an angler, obviously. Thanks. Please forgive the gnats.

I'm guessing a largemouth bass. Check the bass forum out and see if it looked like the pictures in there.

where did this fish come from ?? It could be a LMB, but it could also be a Goggle eye or several other species of sunfish !!! Location, location, location !!

I'd would say largemouth no if ands and buts about it. But one thing......the jaw dosent appear to extend past the eye. I might be wrong and it might extend with the mouth closed. My moneys on it being a LM but there are plent of subspecies that can throw you off. Such as spots and coosas. But coosas normally had red eyes and orange fins, atlest the ones in north georgia..Where was the fish caught? That could help out alot.

Thanks for the help on this one guys. This fish comes from a small farm pond in south Ga, almost at the Florida line. This particular pond has catfish and these fish which I guessed was a bass, but like I say I'm really just beginging to fish for anything other than brim (which I do to entertain my son) so I'm not good with the identifiers. He was caught with a texas rig.
