[cool][#0000ff]How would Thursday (7/12) work for everybody? I just got a blip on my dance card for Tuesday and TubeBabe will be back to help harvest some perchies by then.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Game plan would be to arrive at Rock Cliffs whenever our alarm clocks and constitution allowed. We will fish until about 11 and then fillet the fish and find a suitable spot to set up the cookin' and eatin'. The chow part should be over before two so anyone who wanted to go back out for an afternoon session could hit the water again...weather permitting.[/#0000ff]

[Smile]Count me in ... but you'll have to do most of the prep!

[cool][#0000ff]So...what else is new?[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Sorry. I realize that you will be getting in Wed evening and won't have much time to get ready for leaving early the next day. We can deal with it.[/#0000ff]

I have to work that morning[Sad][Sad][Sad]. Any remote chance of moving it back 2 weeks? I'm on vacation then.

I plan on taking the Banana, so I will have a H3, but it doesn't have all the pole holders on it like TD, unless he has a spare.

Good luck guys. I have to work. I am going to try and get up either Sunday morning or Wed night after work. I need to get some more trips to get my comp days back up. I am running out of vacation time. So I have to get back to fishing on the weekends.

[cool][#0000ff]We can always do another one. No limit to how much fun we can have. We will practice on the first one so we get it down "Pat".[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]You will probably be up there every day on your vacation anyway.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]How about an afternoon trip to Salem Pond sometime after next week. I need to make a "delivery" for your big fat head.[/#0000ff]

[cool]Man, that sounds fun. I'm gonna do that tomorrow a.m. before the power squadron gets out there, but I'm not sure how well I'll do without a fishfinder this time.

I will see if my schedule allows me to be "sick" that day so I that I might be able to join this fun party!

[cool][#0000ff]Hey Geoff, you really do not need the sonar that much. You will find most of the fish in shallower water and you will be casting around to different spots rather than finding a school and jigging them.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]When you launch, turn left and go back up into the shallows toward the inlet of the Provo River. Actually, you can fish all the way down the rocky area beside the road for smallies and then work over into the brushy areas for both smallies and perchies. Some of the fish are in real skinny water. Be ready for a fast smack if you toss in the right spot. [/#0000ff]

[cool]Thanks Pat. I appreciate the heads up. I was suspecting that the fish were in shallower at the moment in the grassy flat area towards the river, and I was hoping for such but wasn't sure. I think I'll cast some crankbaits or roadrunners early on towards the rocky and brushy shore areas trying for smallies and then work my way over towards the river area. If nothing else, there will probably be 'bows over in that area, but I'd rather catch a ton of perch and some smallies. I'll try the smaller jigs/baitbugs etc. after using the bigger stuff earlier on. Can't wait to get out there!!

Well, my big fat head thanks you. SP would be fine, or I would meet you anywhere, i.e., Jordanelle, Starvation, Electric Lake, Utard Lake--we just need to decide on a place.

I've been coaching my eldest son's little league team, and right now we're in the throws of Provo City's baseball tournament. We recently qualified for state, with the number of wins we've acheived thus far, but it has Sadly left me little time to wet a line. I've enjoyed coaching much more than I thought I would, and I'm happy to say our team hasn't completely floundered under my tutelage.

Another plus side of not being able to fish much is a load of vacation days I've built up. They're itchin' to be used, I'm tellin' ya. I was smiling and excited about the upcoming Lake X party, but I forgot my wife has an appointment in Salt Lake, and I'm locked in to watching the little ones.

So what I'm saying is, I would enjoy taking a day or two off and fish nearly any locale you would recommend. I believe I've fished like twice in a month and a half (don't gasp too much air, or you'll pass out), so any place you been hankerin' to go, I'm there.

[cool][#0000ff]When you can see a hole in your busy schedule, have your peeps PM my peeps and we will get something going. Might even join you at the river...if ya know where I mean.[/#0000ff]

Sounds great. I'll be proactive and contact you.

By the way, one of those few paltry times I have fished in the last several weeks was at the river inlet, and I got nadda in about two hours of fishing. (It was during the brightly lit and hot hours of 6 to 8 p.m. though, so that could have been a factor.)

Using the same tactics of casting in near the reeds, away from the reeds in the main flow of the river, fishing in shallow water as little as three feet, and fishing deeper in as much as five feet--I didn't even get a bump. I tried white, chartreuse, and dark colors of jigs, and nothing came calling.

There were no other fisherpersons there either, so that may say something. The whities and 'eyes don't seem to be showing up there this year. But then again, I don't claim to know the minds and attitudes and behaviors of fishies, so they may show up in force if they know you're coming to play with them.[Wink]

I did see several white bass and a few 'eyes caught there a couple of months ago, but, of course, things have changed a lot since then.

[cool][#0000ff]Ya cain't ketch 'em where they ain't. The schools move around according to where there food is. You could have hit the area on an off day...or an off week...or you might have just hit them right a couple of times last year and they are somewhere else this year.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]That's fishing.[/#0000ff]
