Hello All,
Just thought I'd report my luck out at Caldwell Pond 1. Last few days the Largemouth Bass have kept me busy. Caught 6 on the 4th, another 3 yesterday, and caught 7 this morning. The biggest was 17 inches from this morning. Most in the 12 inch range.
Never been out to these ponds until the 4th. Glad I made the trip.

Caught another 5 tonight. Having a blast out there. Anyone know what the other two ponds are like? Been wanting to give them a try but the bass have been so good at the first pond I can't pull myself away from it.

Are you talking about Caldwell Rotary? Its a great pond, however, the last time i was there about 6 weeks ago, it was very murky and had tons of cotton floating around which was mucking up my float tube and reels. Has it cleared up?
There are some lunkers in there for sure, i had one break my 10lb test during a fight last fall. I never got a good look at it, but it had to be 6 or 7 pounds.
I have been to the other Caldwell pond (Notus exit) and have done very well there too. Love those ponds cuz they are close drive for good action and always a chance of catching a trophy. Also, I have been fishing Merrills Pond in Eagle. It is right next to Merrills Park by Eagle and Hwy44. I banked a 6 pounder there before it threw my hook and got away. Lots of small ones there but now that i know there are monsters in there, I keep going back to claim my trophy, LOL.
Hope this helps,

Yeah it's the rotary pond by the river. There's some cotton floating around but wasn't that big of a headache. I've been mainly fishing in the weeds with sweet beaver plastic. Throw it right in the weeds or on the edge or into an open hole in the weeds.
My theory is the big ones are out by that pole in the middle of the lake. From the posts i've read on the internet that seems to be where people have caught or lost big ones. Just need to convince my wife to let me buy a pontoon to get out there.
There's all kinds of tadpoles and baby frogs along the shore. I'm thinking anything that appears to be a frog is a sure way to land a bass. Last night on my first cast I caught a 15 inch.
Add some pics to the post

My foot is 13 inches long to give you perspective on the 17 inch fish.
Thanks for the info about the Eagle pond. I work off of Chinden and Cloverdale. I might give that pond a try after work.
