I know, I'm, from Ut., I can only try, right? My only credentials are - I've paid my dues by now, and maybe -------------- ?
Here's the deal - My first love is river smallies.[Smile] For lots of years I've made the trip on the Snake below Swan Falls at the end of the road and then walking a couple of miles with my fishing buddy (my goldens). It has been wonerful and I go every year, sometime a couple. I've been thru 3 dogs now and my current one is a very hyper Golden (Sparky) that is actually too much for me but we both are best of Buds.
I digress - What I'm trying to do is find an area for us that isn't so far and hard on me. I'm an old fart now and I don't know how much longer I can do it. [Sad] If I can talk someone in "giving it up" for an area that will still give me the pleasures I've experienced over the years and keep my best Bud (Sparky) happy, we'd be much in dept to ya. I live in Ogden Ut. so's ya know where I'm traveling from. I suggest that you use the pm method so the lurkers don't get a freebe. I know the Snake is full of smallies and there are probably lots of areas, like somewhere below American Falls R., that are just as good, if not better. My problem is I ain't got the gumption to scout these areas out now.[unsure] So ------------------, can I get some suggestions from you smallie guys? I wade or use my tube (no boat). Much thanks in advance.

I have heard that Milner Res. is producing well. I guess they start at the golf cource and go up or down river.

Milner Rsr should be a good place for you.

1. Nice SMB fishery
2. Staight route, take I84, actually shorter driving time than AFR.
3. Tube works well there, current not as fast as Massacre.
4. Plenty of space for your Sparky to wonder around.

Don't forget to put your report on later if you hit there.

There are several river access spots there: called Bass Point, Bass Bay, Trout Point and the boat doc. You can find the sign at the entrance. (The main entrance is in west of city Burley. Take 30 and turn north, then couple of miles on unpaved road. It took me some time to find the place for the first time).
I personally like the Bass Bay and boat doc. You can float your tube up river a little bit and work around the rocky shore line.
Good luck.

n42'32.017 w113'57.801 This is a good area on Milner. The current picks up later in the day and sometimes the water will drop a foot or so. So AM is the best time to fish. Good luck.
