Where are good places to fish from shore? I've fished down by the big damn in the weeds without much luck. I had one big hit but didn't get to set the hook.

I've never fished it, but if your bank fishing I can't imagine to many secret spots, maybe certain techniques.
Try fishing real slow with plastics or just start walking and cover as much as possible with spinner baits.
