Hey all,
I've got some friends who I have fished with in the past and they are heading up to Bear Lake around the 24th to stay in the condos. They will be taking their boat with them and wanted some info on fishing at Bear Lake.
I have never fished it so I told them I would post up here and see what the board says.

What are the usual species caught there, Bear Lake Cutts and Macs? And what are some typical setups. They are not looking for any real secrets, nor am I, just some suggestions. Jigging? Casting? Trolling? etc.

Thanks!
Randy

I fished it twice over the fourth holiday...........NADA! My excuse is that the first trip was my first trip with my new to me boat and the second trip was "Rileyfishes fault" LOL

Fish are deep and tight lipped. By the time you finally find a decent spot to jig or troll the power squadron will be in full force.

Troll deep with flatfish, rapalas, kastmasters. Jig with white tubes tipped with cisco or sucker meat. Kinda generic tips because bear lake is tough to fish, especially this time, and I have yet to figure it out!

Do some looking in the bear lake archives and look at the past posts for july they go back several years. I like to fish early deep and on the east side. We to will be over there the 20th-22nd camped on cisco beach. Good luck. M.H.
