Hello Idaho

Well we did it again, I got on the water way late around 10:30am and put the boat in the water and headed straight to the dam right up the middle and BAM not 5 minutes and i had the first 2lb er netted and on the stringer, get to the dam and turn around to go back to the dock cause we wanted the pop gear off another pole we left in the truck so on the way back BAM again, I got another 17-18 incher, so i had my limit in about oh i dont know but had to be less than an hour. The other two keepers kept us there til about 2:30pm but we came home with 4 very nice fish, we threw back 3 others that were healthy but not up to the size we wanted. A great day by any means. Once again we used our faithful pop gear, brass/silver, wedding rings (bright yellow color was the trick, these are home made)tipped with a little worm. We were going out 25-30 yds(21/2 to 3 colors) with a 1/2 oz weight in front of the pop gear, you want to be either hitting the weeds lightly on top or just above them, the fish were hiding in the tall grass.

If they are going to salvage this lake i sure would like to know because there are some very nice fish in this body of water and i sure wouldnt mind stocking my fridge with em. I tried to find out info on Idaho Fish and Game site but no luck, can anyone tell me anymore about this salvaging going on and when?

Thanks for the report.
As far as I've heard there is no official salvage plan for Chesterfield yet. A couple weeks ago I know the F&G were still hoping Chesterfield wouldn't go dry but we haven't had much rain, it has been hot and farmers need the water they own. I think a salvage is still very likely. You could try calling the SE region F&G office for more information but they might not know anything yet. When a salvage does go into affect the F&G will often (not always) post in on the F&G website. It will likely appear under the "News Releases" section of the F&G website. I've also seen the F&G put up signs around the reservoir that is under salvage. If I hear anything official I'll post it.
