I'm planning to relocate to north carolina in the future and haven't had any experience fishing in that state. Most people probably would have other priorities when selecting where to live but is fishing. Any help would be appreciated.

Well...if you want great fishing then you should move to Maine; we've got it going on with Smallies and Stripers[cool]. Anyways, the best spots I know of in NC are the Davidson River in Asheville, NC and Kerr Reservoir in Clarksville, Va (on the NC border). In the Davidson you'll have a great time fly fishing for trout whereas at Kerr you'll be honing in on big bass more. Hope this helps out some. Also, try using Google Earth to locate some big lakes and reservoirs close to the property you're interested in purchasing as this is also a good method in assuring proximity to lucrative fishing spots.

There are alot of lakes there. I have only been to a handfull of them. There is a lot of good fishing though.
What area of the State are you planning to move to?? perhaps I could help you with some tips and tricks for that area.[cool]

Thank yo for the information. Maine is a little too cold for me. I'm looking to move to a warmer climate so I can enjoy 12 months out of the year. I enjoy being outside. Thanks again.

Thank you for replying. We are looking in the Pinehurst area.

Your closet lakes would only be Falls Lake and Everett Jordan Lake. Both are good for the nice Trout in the area. Catfish and Musky are the secondary delights.[cool]
