went to deer creek this morning. from 5:30-11:00 a.m. put on a storm swimbait 2 inch perch. Went to the spot I lost that big lmb last sunday. I saw a fish jump right next to shore. i cast right ahead of him. And bam he hit it. After a great fight i got him up and lipped him. yep it was the same fish i lost last week. i estimated last week he was 18-20 inches. he went 19.5. So fat probably 5-6 lbs. And i knew the rest of the morning the fish would get smaller. I caught a ton of smaller smallies. And the surprise of the morning was catching 2 nice 17 inch rainbows on a yamamoto purple and brown curly tail. too bad they discontinued that color. i went through 10 of the 20 in the bag. man i love purple up there and so do the fish. i got a new shimano medium action rod which has really been great. i hook fish a lot better. used the bubblegum yamamoto senkos. they worked but only caught small fish. sorry no picture. was by myself.

the one time I have been to DC I used purplish Roboworms, drop-shotting, and they worked great. Seems like you're definately on to something (and me accidentally!)![Wink]

[cool][#0000ff]Purple has always been a good color at DC...and at Jordanelle too. It also works well for both white bass and walleyes at Utah Lake.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Purple works so well for all species I can't believe that more people don't use it all the time. There are several good fly patterns for trout that are sexy purple.[/#0000ff]
