Was planning on going up to Strawberry but my 2 grand kids 4yrs and 5yrs old, wanted to go fishing. So we went to mirror lake where they were sure to catch fish....they caught around 20 together and had a great time. Weather was sunny but very windy all day...most were the usual...12-13"

Craig, that explains why we didn't see you on Strawberry. Always good to get the gkids out and glad you got into some fish. Strawberry's scenery is Ok, but if scenery is what I am going after give me Mirror Lake any day.

Thanks for posting your report, what was the secret of your success? Sounds like you and the kids had a great day and 12 to 13 inch trout are nice sized for that lake. They must be stocking them bigger than I remember or those fish are a good carry over from earlier stockings[

Better not go up there on holidays and weekends then! What a beautiful place up here, but unfortunately it turns into a city of people.
As the population grows and thrives, I'm just hoping Mirror Lake and others can withstand the pressure over the next decade or so.

Sept. seems to slow down as for the people traffic. We only had 6 canoes on the lake at one time. The shores weren't that busy either. Now that school is in and the temp's are lower, the public stays home....The leaves are changing and it is getting closer to "ice on"
