Took my son out in the canoe for the first time this week end. He had never shown any interest in fishing before so I jumped at the chance to show him a good time. We got to Lacamas Lake and all the spots I had been fishing were now dry land! They had dropped the lake about four feet. Well, we went in search of new spots and found some! All we caught were small crappie and perch, but he had a blast catching the first fish...and the second fish, I finally did catch some too. We had to go in early because it was my 23rd wedding anniversary and I had promised the wife o' my life that I would be home in time to take her out to dinner and a movie. When we got back to the dock we had to wait for about 30 minutes for this fellow to get his big new boat launched. So my son jumps out of the canoe and says he is going to fish off the dock. With all the activity I think he will be disapointed, but with just a few casts he gets a crappie. What a great time we had. BTW we were using the "Trout Magnet" and "E-Z Floats" from Lelund Lures, wow they are so effective. There really are no trout to speak of in the end of lake we were fishing, but they really killed them crappie.

[black]Looks like you had a pretty good outing. I really enjoy fishing from a canoe. When I do, I can get to places that are pretty inaccessible to other flotation water craft. Plus they are easy to navigate with. [/black]
