dang man, lets just say im not nearly as financially dedicated as you are lol. I had 3 rods, a shakespeare synergy 10, an ugly stik, and a berkely lightning rod, but the synergy broke, so im down to just the big 2. i've caught catfish, white bass, a black drum, bream, bluegill and shad...Sadly, thats all. been fishing for goin on 4½-5 months now, and thats all. and i havent caught many--1 shad, drum, 4 cats, 2 bass. the bream and bluegills do come in great quantity though.

Far too many to count or remember. My favorite rod is my 6'6" Ugly Stick Lite. I have caught all species i have ever caught on that rod and that is too time consuming to list.[cool]

I will wait to the end to do my inventory by type of rod. Last count was just over 280 rods.[shocked]

you got me beet on the rodz, I only have about 65-70, I know I have at least 290 reels if not 300.[cool]

hows that saying go, the boyz with the most toyz wins [Tongue]

Not hardly, I use about nine of them regularly.

I have several salt water reels tho I have never been salt water fishing, only one salt water rod that a few hefty carp, walleye and more than a hand full of atlantic salmon have put to the test.[Tongue]

nice list! i just got a ugly lite stick just 2 days ago

I dont know any one who will snub their noses at an ugly stick. them things take a beating and are almost imposible to break. Ya you can break them but you have to abuse it.

I got a rino about 3 years back, Glow in the dark tip, the last 6 inches glows when you put the lite to it. Way cool for night fishing on the river bank.

I ended up setting all of my ultra light ice fishing poles aside since I haven't been ice fishing for so long. (I guess my freezer produces a different kind of ice that doesn't bite on anything) ha ha.

The rest of my rods are in bundles that are based on the area and type of fishing that I am planning on doing.

I keep a few universal kits for certain lakes and other specialized kits for other lakes. Distinct kits for different Piers, different from kits for different beaches. Cat rods set aside and Bass rods that cannot hide. Trout rods short and long and some for panfish that can't go wrong.

For Kokes and Macs on the attacks, but the Musky rods are on the Racks. With the Sturgeon rods so big and Strong they work for Sharks, short and long. Smallies are far and few between but the fly rods get the Browns that can't be seen.

The Salt is good, the bite is free and my rods now total Three hundred twenty three.[cool]

I have about 80 set-ups, but only about 30 I use regularly. Love 8 footers, graphite for walleyes, catfish, and bass. Best rods I've found are made by WW Grigg, Fenwick Venture and Daiwa Procaster SST's. I like rods that are not to "wimpy", need a little stiffness to them regardless of overall size of rod. Need good rods with "feel" , if you can't feel 'em you can't hook'em.

i feel the same way, but i meen, haveing a 8 foot casting rod just isnt right. thats why i have different settups for different accasions.

If I am fishing off my toon. Usually I carry 6wt 9.5 fast action fly rod. with intermediate sink. 5wt 10foot mod fast action fly rod with floating line.
If I am fishing of my boat I carry my light action 6 foot spin cast. for jigging and working spinners and different plastics.
one 6.5 medium action spin cast for heavy plastics and spoons.
2 6.5 medium bait casters one set for crank baits the other with top water.
If I am in a river its my 6 foot ultra light. + 8 foot 4wt flyrod with moderate fast action. floating line.

I like the finesse fishing such as Warchild, I only own one heavy trolling rod. The rest are my fly rods (2), baitcasters (27), and spinning rods (14). My favorite rod that is the most sensitive with a fast tip and provides a heavy backbone is a Gloomis IMX...oh sweet heaven, I can't find another rod for a lesser price that even comes close to it. Although, it doesn't stop me from looking. One day I'm going to pick up that 'rod on the rack' and say "this is just like my 7 footer, and for a quarter of the price!" I'll buy four of them!
I prefer baitcasting rods, fast tip-heavy backbone. Alot of the bc rods that are sold here in Utah are about as stiff as a steel pole. I do alot of searching for the poles I use. Don't even get started reels...

I have 3 rods

A Shakespeare telescoping rod (medium duty), with a Shakespeare spinning reel

A Quantum Octane IM6 rod. I have the factory spinning reel, though I have only used that a couple times. I usually use a Zebco 202 or 404 spincasting reel. For looks, I stained the cork handle with a Birchwoos Casey maple stain.

A mid-1980's vintage Zebco telescoping rod. Came with an equally old Zebco spincasting reel, which has since stopped working. Replaced that with a Zebco 202.

Hey Dave, I just got a Rhino about three weeks ago on sale @ Dick's.
I was looking for a two-piece medium casting rod with a seriously slow tip (even whippy) and this 6' Rhino was the only rod i could find with this criteria.
Coupled with my Curado, it's outstanding for tossing ultra light lures into tight structure without getting overwinds or loss of accuracy. Fantastic rod and for $10 you can't beat it!

My other favourite is my 7' medium-heavy ugly stick which I use for covering open water and fishing heavy cover. I actually prefer it to my GLoomis.
We have a few others (about twelve) including several fly rods ranging from a #1 to a #6.
I'm lucky that my wife is an avid angler too so i never hear whining about the money I spend on gear.[Tongue]

thats a good deal on the rino for sure, think I paid 30 for mine... not on sale and it was at a mom n pop shop.... have to keep the local shops in the area where I am fishing open so they will have my bait the next time I show up...[Tongue]

the more I use my rino the more I like it as well...

never had an ugly stick, but I was impressed when I saw a store rep take one and touch the tip of the rod to the but of the rod.... I dont suggest any one do it, ya never know, but I do know at one time they had a life time gaurntee from breaking provided you didnt slam it in to the door or trunk of the car...[angelic] I dont know if they still offer that warentee any more....

I have 20-25 rods but currently am fishing with three new ones I own and am absolutely loving them...The rods are G2 Custom Rods...They have a pretty sweet website and will custom build the rods to your preference of power, action, and color combos....They even put your name on them, and not in pencil...it is some kind of decal or something it looks like. Anyway, Awesome rods. Great feel, Great Warranty, Great Big Fish...

I currenly have 7 rods for open-water fishing. Most of them are Guide Series rods from Gander Mountain. Love the warranty on them! I also have a St Croix ultra-light which I just for about 50% of my fishing. Gotta love the fight of a big fish with light gear and 4 lb test line!

I was playing with a Rhino Indestructible in the store once and was telling my friend how they shouldn't break as I was bending it farther than you would consider doing to any other rod except maybe an Ugly Stick. I got to a certain point and it sounded like a gun went off in the store! Needless to say, that rod went back as defective/damaged to the manufacturer. LOL. Guess I don't know my own strength. [Wink]
