Hit Strawberry this morning with Out4aFloat. What a nice morning. Lake to ourselves until a little after eight. Very little wind and fish that wanted to play. Well atleast they wanted the orange jigs I brought.
Landed 23 fish a personal best for Strawberry. Nineteen cutts and four rainbows. Camera died early but was able to take a few pics before it died.
Stoped by the fish collecting station on our way out for the last pic.

So I am not usually keen on fishing the berry out of my tube. (I have never done well enough for the drive.) But it turned out to be a fun day. I only had 8 fish to tlspyder's 23, but that is 3 times my normal up there. Largest fish was 22" with the smallest being 16". Pink tube tipped with nightcrawler seemed to be the hot item. But also caught them with an orange head charteuse body and red tail, and of course the no fail 3" white tube.
Water temp was 60 degrees, with most of the fish coming out of 15-25 feet of water.

Great report, and thanks for the pictures. I haven't fished the Berry since ice fishing. That seems like one good place to go this weekend.

How do you get to the fish collecting station? I've never seen a koke up close and specially not a spawning one. Great color.

[cool][#0000ff]Sounds like a good day on the water. Coulda been a lot worse if Windzilla had wanted to play and the fishies hadn't.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The next month should be magic on Strawberry...in between storms.[/#0000ff]

It is located just behind the ranger station. Park at the ranger station and walk back on the board walk. The board walk takes you by the stream and then to the actual facility. Hope that helps.

As Out4aFloat already said the collcetion center is behind the visitor center at Strawberry. Short walk and there is a boardwalk back to it.
Not sure if there are any left running in the river or not. Thursday there were some below the cement steps at the ladders.
Three weeks of searching for them in the lake and the only ones I ever saw were in the protected rivers. O well maybe next year.
