CONCORD, N.H. - If you're thinking about hunting this fall to put a holiday turkey on the table, don't miss a free talk featuring N.H. Hunting Guide John Asseng and N.H. Fish and Game Wildlife Biologist Mark Ellingwood. "Wild Turkey Habits and Fall Hunting Tactics" will be presented on Wednesday, September 26, from 7-8:30 p.m. at New Hampshire Fish and Game Department headquarters on Hazen Drive in Concord. No pre-registration is needed -- just show up. Come early to get a good seat.

N.H. Hunting Guide John Asseng will share tried-and-true tactics for fall turkey pursuits. Asseng has a depth of experience with the "second season"

for turkeys, since he has hunted spring and fall turkeys in New Hampshire and Vermont for over 15 years. Currently the president of the New Hampshire Guides' Association, Asseng also works as a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Park Ranger. He spends countless hours in the woods chasing various quarry, but his love for eastern wild turkey hunting still tops his list.

N.H. Fish and Game Wildlife Biologist Mark Ellingwood is equally enthusiastic about turkey hunting and brings a vast knowledge of the habits and habitats of this exciting game bird. Together, these two experts can provide you with a valuable edge if you decide to tackle the tough, but rewarding pursuit of New Hampshire's fall turkeys.

The turkey hunting talk is the last of a series of free Wednesday evening hunting talks offered by Fish and Game this fall to give hunters an opportunity to hear from hunting experts and wildlife biologists on a variety of hunting-related topics.
