well maybe for some but not me..[sly] i have been tricking out the new snowmobile for some ice fishing..
i made a nice rack on the back to pack all my stuff on so there is no need for a sled behind.. just pack it all on the snowmobile and off ya go.
here are some pic's of the new sled and rack..

[cool]HELL NO!!! IT'S NEVER TOO EARLY TO TALK ABOUT ICE FISHING!!
Nice mod to the sled, Ron. Looks like you are all set for this winter. Some day I'm gonna have a snomo to get my a$$ across the ice at Strawberry to the good and little molested locations...
Is Huntington frozen yet?[

Nice Job, I'm in the jealous club also, i really need a snowmobile, i have a three seater hooch that i just love, it is huge and heavy but well worth having out there on those stormy cold a*& days, we usually have to go with our buddy who has a four wheeler and he hauls ours and his but if the snow is thick on top of the ice it can get difficult or at the end of the season when the slush sets up on top also. But we have hauled it out on numreous lakes and there are times i have hauled it up the side of mountains using my truck and 150 ft of rope. I had to adapt the front special with a hauling device cause i kept breaking the ones my brother in law would build for me, but we got one now that is working very well. I'm thinking of getting some cots this year and spending some nights out on the ice, never done that yet. Its never too early to get ready for ice fishing.

That old mammoth hideout is so close to capping it would scare you Geoff.. I'm thinking a couple more cold nights like we had last 4th of July should do it nicely. So how's bout you break trail for us by grabbing your auger and hauling your butt over those snow capped peaking east of Fairview!
Oh btw,, be sure and leave a report when you get back.. I'd do it but I cant seem to find my jet sled... [

That is very nice looking rack you have there. Great work and good engineering. And i have to say I think it is too early as I do not want to put up my motorcycle yet.

I hope not. I finally found some wax for the jet sled and put it on yesterday.
That rack you made looks great. Pack everything on and forget about the sled tipping over and dumping something out.

when i get back home i'm going to put some 1/4 playwood in the back and bottom of the rack so it can work as a wind brake as well. should work out good.. i hope
