Fishing Forum

After all that rain yesterday, I figured if I can get out today the fishing would be good. I was a little nervous I was going to get snowed on because it was pooring until late on Saturday. Glad I made it because it was really nice at Scofield and the fishing was good as well. Caught over 10 trout, all rainbows except one tiger trout. Most of them were around 15 inches with a couple of 19 inchers mixed in. Almost all were caught using worms. I wanted to use some different lures to try and target the tiger trout more, but I kept getting bites off of the bait. There was also quite a bit of moss around the bank which made casting out lures a little difficult.

The lake was really quiet with not many people or boats on it. I was fishing next to a brother and sister and they caught quite a few.
I told the guy (Dan) about the BFT board and how great of a site this is. If he stops by I am sure he will join.

myself and a buddy were there ourselves this morning. temp was 19 degrees at 6:45 am.
i caught 14 trout ranging from 13 to 20 inches. used minnows and crawlers. had one tiger on a minnow but he got loose at the bank. what a wonderful day until the wind came up at about 10. we left at noon. we were fishing across from the boat ramp. [cool]

When I left a little before 11 I saw a guy fishing in a yellow toon around that area. He was hooked up when I was driving by. Seems like the fish were cooperating for everyone. I really don't like the wind but as soon as it came the fish started biting again. I was suprised how well they were biting later in the morning. When I fish the Berry they usually slow down around 9 but that's probably b/c I'm always fishing from the bank.

KTrout - thanks for the info about this board. Great meeting you. Thanks for showing me some new ideas about catching trout. You are a great fisherman. Although - I was jealous of the big ones you got (LOL). Great to know their are others with so much enthusiasm.

That was me ! The fishing yesterday was excellent I probably netted over 30 fish and left around 2:00 I've caught some large fish outta there but hooked one yesterday (Bow) that towed me around for several minutes when I got him close enough it would'nt fit in my net I'm guessing somewhere around 25" and 8 to 9lbs. I only took the hook back and let him be..... what a pig
