[cool][#0000ff]Big cutts and bows are moving shallower at Da Berry now, with the cooling temps. The next month or so should see some great action for all kinds of fishing...hardbaits, spinners, jigs, flies and assorted baits.[/#0000ff]

I posted the links to those articles at that time, but of course the articles have long since disappeared into the archives. They are available to registered members for a minimum of $2.95 a look. [#0000ff]OldCoot was getting anxious for some Berry fishing and was looking through the archives...and saw that old post. He asked if I had made copies of the articles. I had not. But, I appealed to Brett for him to provide them for us, and he obliged. Nice guy.[/#0000ff]

I can attest that fall fishing at Strawberry has arrived. Three of us were dumb enough to be on the lake most of the day on Saturday in the wind and snow. The fast fishing kept me warm until about 5:00 pm when we just could not take any more. The big cuts are definitely in the shallows and they were hitting everything we threw at them (stick baits, jigs and top water). My guess is we caught about 60 fish with 2 over the slot and 80% between 19-21 inches. I have attached a few pictures of some fish and a rare look at an empty parking lot at 5:00 pm on a on Saturday in September. I love the Fall!!!!!

I was comfortable in my duck gear and black snow suit, but my son and brother in law were not prepared. They got wet and cold and stopped fishing about two hours before I decided to call it a day. They were not very happy with me, but I had not been out in weeks and I was not going to leave active feeding fish. My feet and hands were a little cold, but I survived to fish another day.

We too were there from 8 until 12 on Saturday. My family was up from SoCal and they sure loved the Utah fall weather. But they said it was worth the great fishing. We got 20 or so and it was pretty steady throughout the day on just about everything we threw. My buddy landed a 24-25"er and we caught another over the slot. Dang school getting in the way of my favorite time of year to fish the berry.

Can’t get Strawberry off of my mind these days. I really want to give this cool weather shallow trout fishing a good chance.
