I have a 10 guage auto that I have had for several years, and it has not been used much for a number of years,It has a full choke, do I need to have it bored to shoot steel shot, it has shot a little steel shot, but I have heard that it is not safe to use it this way, Thank you in advance if anyone knows about this.

Yes,do not shot steel thru a full choke,lead can compact and is ok,but steel will not compact like lead and the end of the barrel will start to split and then mushroom apart,I have seen it happen,with a twelve gauge.
