Got to Harold S. Crane at 5 am! 16 empty trailers in the parking lot and 7 in line to launch which left only one of 2 parking spots left. We got 1 of them luckily after we launched.
Sat in the rain for almost 3 hours until 8 am. Tons of birds flying around but 100 yds. up and haulin arse. We sat in our boat till 1pm and decided to leave after only killing 2 ducks(only 5 came within shooting range). We got almost back to the main dike and the electric clutch went out on my friends brand new 35 hp. Mud Buddy![pirate] We messed with it for an hour and 2 of us finally hoofed it the 2 miles back to the parking lot where we luckily found someone willing to tow us that had enough power. All in all it was a terrible day.

Mine was wayyyyyyy worst. My airboat broke down, finally got it fixed, shot only 6 ducks then towed in a broken down long shaft on the way back in with my boat that was bearly running. I was soaked, pissed at the boat and myself (I caused all my own breakdown troubles) and REALLY needed a beer and hug. Hug and beer are now done. Now I get to unfabricate my mistakes. Once the boat dry's out in the garage.
Brutal! I said heck with work and decided to hit the slough. Had a good shoot, brought back a limit, shot all my shells, twisted my knee, and got soaked. All-in-all not a bad day in the swamp for me. Pounded one goose, but he out swam me, so he'll fester and die in the swamp in the near future.

I get so sick of the bone heads who can't wait to pull the trigger till 0800. There will be just as many ducks around as there are at 0745. With missing the first big wave off the pond, my first shot was about 0805, but then it stayed pretty consistent. It sounded like the retards at Ogden Bay started about 0735! Those stinking ducks ain't worth the fine!

Dang guys that sounds like a miserable day in the rain! I went out to Harold Crane also, (on foot) we had a decent day. Got out to our spot and no other guys within 200 yards for once. Let alot of low flyers go until 8:00. We ended up shooting a few, but only were able to retrieve 7. Its amazing how those dang birds can dissapear. One of them I even found blood all over the cattails and feathers all over but no bird. We only shot at the bigger ducks, let all the teal go. Brought home 6 mallards and one gadwall. My bad story for the day is I shoot a Beretta 391 with the wood stock, and unfortunately I have found two spots where the clear finish has now cracked from being wet. DAMN I nedd a synthetic!!

TKB- yes it was the good old Ogden Bay guys that started it up around 7:40. GUess they can't tell time over there. Alot of our birds came from over that way so it worked out for us..

Well, I guess i dont feel to bad after all. The football game in Laramie was great. No rain or snow here yet. Beer was cold, BBq was fantastic and the Pokes beat TCU. What a day.

[Sad]Man sounds like a really bad time was had by alot of people,my friend s group had to guns break on them while they where out, they left at ten-thirty from farmington bay.
I wondered how them electric clutches would hold up,hope it nothing serious and he can get it fixed real soon it is the season so I bet mud buddy is swamped with stuff just like that problem.

My boy went with a friend and his dad up to public,I will report when he gets home.

All better now. A stupid wiring connection in the clutch housing.
I'm beter now too. Shot some birds at Howards, and had a moron botch a sure kill on a specklebelly. He shot at it from about 130 yds. and it would have come 25' over my head.[mad][mad][mad]
