Once I got the invite I jumped on the opportunity to go to the gorge, after all this was somewhere I go every year and did not get a chance to go. I met skeet41 in Evanston and we arrived at the marina about 6:45 am.

Once we got the boat ready we were off scanning the finder looking for the macs. We found a ton of boats and now I understand why that is where the macs were located at. We caught 6 macs ranging from 3-6 LBS pups as they call them but for me a THRILL!

I was fishing for trout but this is a new one for me I caught my first small mouth bass! I can see why people like to fish for them, the pull hard!

Thanks for the report. That red Lund in the background of your pics sure looks familiar. I just can't quite place it.... How about you, BearLakeMack? [Image: hysterical.gif]

Once again those are some kind words O1, I had a great time and look forward to doing it again. Just to add, we couldn't have asked for a better day, the water was glassy until around 2pm and the approaching front put the fish into feed mode. We were unable to put a hook in several others as they hit quickly and moved on. It was kinda nice to be able to concentrate on fishing and not the wind for a change. Sunday after the front proved to be a little tougher as we (another buddy and two kids) couldn't seem to put a laker in the boat, however there were others that did. We moved on to some bows around noon to keep the kids interested and having fun. I'm not real happy with the service or lack of, I received at the villa. I had reserved a room in advance for myself, my buddy and two kids which was given to someone else only to find this out after a full day of fishing (long story but I got the shaft), need I say they've lost my business. Next time I'll pay the extra dollar and stay up the street.

At least you didn't make the mistake I did a couple of trips ago. I stayed at what I thought was going to be a motel (should have know something was fishy because of the price) and it turned out to be a double wide trailer split into 4 rooms. That was real Livin I tell ya. Let me know on that strawberry trip, sounds like the fishing is hot now...
