Coast Guard officials said the woman was found wearing a life jacket
The body was discovered after two boaters were reported missing and their boat was found overturned.
The U.S. Coast Guard coordinated a massive search Wednesday for co-workers Arutur Turner, 48, and Irina Sheyner, 44, both of West Hartford.
Turner's overturned boat was found in Long Island Sound after the pair failed to return from a fishing trip.
The 19-foot pleasure boat was found with its anchor down about four miles outside Clinton Harbor around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. Turner and Sheyner left Clinton Harbor on a fishing trip around 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Sheyner's husband, Greg Sheffer, who confirmed she was the woman involved, reported them missing at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday.
The boat was due in by sunset, but Sheyner did not show up Tuesday night at her job as a nursing home night supervisor.
The vehicle they drove to the marina was found next to where the boat is kept.

Reached by phone at his West Hartford home, Sheffer said his wife and Turner had worked together.
"They've been fishing together for a long time," said Sheffer, who is disabled and does not fish.
Sheffer said he had no reason to suspect foul play.
Coast Guard officials said Turner was an avid fisherman who frequently took people on fishing trips.
Sheyner is a registered nurse at Hughes Health and Rehabilitation Inc. in West Hartford, where her co-workers kept a close eye on news reports about the rescue effort Wednesday. A spokeswoman for the convalescent home said Turner had worked at the facility as a license practical nurse.
The search included crews from four shoreline towns, along with state Department of Environmental Protection police and state police. Two helicopters and a rescue jet joined the search, and the Coast Guard Cutter Chinook was dispatched from New London.
Officials said that the found body must be identified.
