An angling buddy and I will be fishing Fish Lake tomorrow from my 19' boat. Will leave Bountiful area at 4:45 AM and will likely not get back until in the later evening. We will fish for whatever we can catch, but hope to catch a decent mack or two. We will vertically jig and if that doesn't work, or if it is too windy, either drift troll, or fire up the kicker). [size 1]"ok fish lake is can be realy tuff this time of year for macks. but the splake will be going off right now.
for mack's try the east side shalows around 50 to 30 feet. they should be up in there getting ready to spown. or the point out in frount of joe bush. there is allways the 2 points in frount of lakeside as well.. i dont think the mack's will be all that deep this time of year but dont hurt to look..
the splake will be going through there spowning thing soon as well. i have had my best luck there fishing the weedline on the east side or pelacan point. the chess hole by lakeside is great splake fishing as well.. look for holes in the weeds at 20 to 40 feet.. macks could be up in there as well.
i would try as you allredy know a white 4 to 6 inch jig tipped with sucker meat. or troll big pop gear on a downrigger with a mack fly, G-fly, or squid bait tipped again with sucker meat!
with 2 poles put a long line out with a spoon, rapala, or whatever your lure of choice is. for all the fat rainbows you could want..
