Got up to The Pig around mid-morning and couldn't believe how low that reservoir is getting. Gonna make for some steep sledding down to the ice this winter!

Started just casting from the bank and it didn't take long to get my first bite. For the next hour I couldn't keep the pesky little planter 'bows off my lines. Was moving back and forth from my two poles, it seemed that one of them was constantly bouncing.

Then the breeze started picking up and surprise surprise, the bite slowed. Enough of that...I wanted to catch something a bit bigger. So I went over to the dam and hiked down the rocks, and cast out and waited, and waited, and... I thought to myself, 'heck with it, time to go home'. Reeled in and found the nicest 'bow of the day on the end of my line. He must've ordered lunch 'to stay'.

No brownies today, darn it. No kokes either..I've yet to catch one of them buggers. All 'bows, probably 15 or so. Not bad for a couple hours from the bank in breezy conditions. Threw 'em all back so they could grow up and get caught again.

I was the only one fishing (that i could tell). Lots of hunters driving past the lake. That is a good thing, I won't complain. [Wink]

Sounds like a pretty nice day at the Pig if you ask me. Kokes are tough to catch from shore, but it can be done on occasion.

[cool][#0000ff]Glad to see you got out. Also glad you got to play with some fishies. Feelin' better now? You were gettin' a severe case of fishing deprivation. Only one cure for that.[/#0000ff]

Thanks guys.

Yes, Pat...much better now. It had been close to a month since I had a chance to wet a line. You know how it is...kinda gets under your skin and you find yourself walking around aimlessly, muttering to yourself....

oh wait..that's only when the Mother-in-Law comes to visit!

That's a long story I won't mention here lol

[cool][#0000ff]"Wandering around aimlessly and muttering to yourself"? Hey, I do that all the time anyway. Happens when you get older. Makes me believe in the hereafter. Whenever I find myself standing alone in a room someplace, I ask myself "What am I here after?"[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Sorry, but this is a fishing forum. Not sure where you would go to find help with the mother in law problem. I am sure there are plenty of other BFTers who can sympathize with you, but we do not have a "Mother in Laws" board yet. Maybe check out the hunting and shooting board. Might be some potential there.[/#0000ff]
