Hit holmes for some burbot acation and it started off very slow was wondering if eny thing was going to happen at all when all of a sudden I got that small tap it was the burbot my first of the night was around 14'' or so not easy to get a chunk of meat off that's for sure thay did get bigger with a couple pushing 25'' most action was in 42-52ft of water useing a glow 1/4 curly tail with a small strip of sucker meat and a splash of smelly jelly crawfish hit's are lite and fast much like the lake trout but these guy's will hang on a bit longer and if thay dont eat it thay will be back I was hiting the light on the jig to make it briter and that really seam's to help keeping it close to the bottom with short lifts up to 8-10in off the bottom worked the best tonight allso helped to move around just a little was on the water for 5:30pm and off at 9:00 finnished off with 8 total and a few missed a couple lost thay are easy to catch and a change I think about eny thing glow and next to the bottom will get eat cant wait for the ice so i dont have to run the electric lol enjoy FISH

Ash,
Delighted to read your post. In addition to being a master of lake trout, rainbow and bass it seems as though you're demonstrating your competence with the burbot. My congratulations.
I am looking forward to seeing you again this fall and to take you up on your gracious offer to fish with you, but I must admit I'm a little uncertain about fishing on the ice. Cowardice or good sense? Who Knows, but I'm not going to miss the chance to fish with you. I'll just have to cowboy up! warmest regards, Steve
