So time is closing in very quickly and I think a collaborated effort to finding ice for the Turkey Day holliday needs to be put in effect.

So here is a spot to post possible ice sightings.

So far I know Mirror Lake and Silver Lake (solitude nordic center) have somce ice.

any others?

It has been down to 14 degrees in Randolf at night for a couple of days now, I would think those lakes up there should be iced over or will very soon.

[cool]I'm sure that fuzzyfisher should have a report very soon. I think it was about this time last year that he icefished Fairview Lake for those dink bows.

Bassrods: you driven by Skyline Drive this week?

[cool][#0000ff]Whoa, Geoff. Haven't you heard that Huntington is going to be closed to fishing through the ice this year?[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]No? Me either.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]GOTCHA![/#0000ff]

I haven't found anything down south.

PBH found a place but won't spill it.

[cool][#0000ff]What is the prognosis for Otter Creek? Heard anything? I suppose it is low like all the lakes.[/#0000ff]

From what I can gather and have seen. Skyline drive has been in the low 50's during the day this past week. Doubt there is much ice up there.

When was the last time you fished fairview lakes? They have a lot of planters in there. But I have caught decent size fish out of there in the summer months. My uncle has a cabin in there and my cousins and him have a lot of fun on that lake. Just wondering if you fish it or live through others posts.[unsure]

Lakes near Randolph have no ice whatsoever as of yesterday.

[cool]LOL, Pat. Hey, happy turkey day to you, tubebabe, and the whole tubing fam.

The icemaking forcast is NOW looking VERY good. I'll post a link in a seperate thread, but it looks like Huntington, Fairview, and (maybe) Scofield will all have safe ice just in time... I look forward to drilling holes the weekend after this one as I'll be outta town. Good (and safe) ice fishing to all next weekend!!

[cool]Hey bro. Haven't fished with you in quite a while. I haven't fished Fairview lake since like '02 or '03. Back then I caught a bunch of 12 or 13 inch planters. It's been a while, I guess.

Here's your SERIOUS ice making forcast:

Keep in mind, these lows are for the Salt Lake Valley only. Should be much colder at 7-10,000 ft. high... Last year Huntington wasn't safe until Thanksgiving Day, but had an inch or two more of ice the next day (when I fished it).

Good luck to all going out, and BE SAFE!!!

so maybe safe ice at huntington? i can't alter my tradition of hitting it with kids the day after turkey day.

[size 1]It was 52 degrees here last evening. Its going to be a while. This is the strangest weather I have ever seen up here.[/size]

Well its suppose to turn cold tonight I guess. But thats not enough time for me. I think I will have to stick to turkey day tradition and fish Scofield, even if it is soft water. I will have to take my tube out one more time I guess.

If your fishing the weekend after Thanksgiving I'd test the Geoff curse one more time.[Tongue]

What serious ice making forcast? That one just won't do.
[signature]
well i would not count on Fairview lakes this year to much.. if it get's more than 2 feet of ice the lake will be solid ice.. i think the deepest spot in it right now is 4 feet deep.. been a bad water year up there all year.. talked to a buddy 2 days ago he said he could not find anywhere in there he could not touch bottom with his feet when he was in his tube.. and he said the fish he did catch out of there tasted real bad like moss.. [crazy]

forecast.... anyone want to go run up tomorrow and see if there is ice? Smile

[cool]That's alright. I won't be here this weekend anyhooters. I just was hoping to read reports from you all on how you did. You guys might be able to have safe ice by Saturday or Sunday up there, but I'm going to assume that everyone is chickening out. That's cool. That just means that when I go the following weekend, that some of you guys will want to come along too for your first time out there this year as well. THATS COOL WITH ME. It will be that much cooler if it's all of our first times out on the ice. Let's just hope that a big ol blizzard doesn't come in up there depositing 3 feet of snow on the ice before we get to fish it. That would suck...
