[black][size 3]I think Sat the 1st is out. Snow's a-coming. I think I need one more fix b4 hard water and winterizing. As you guys know, water temp's been dropping 2 to 2 1/2° a week, and on the 24th it was 'tween 40 and 41, and the dawn shoreline was partially ringed with ice. The window is closing. There could be real dawn ice issues on the ramp by the weekend of the 8th, so this is the weekend. Any future weekend launch is just pure bonus, and can't be counted on.[/size][/black]

[black][size 3]I'm concerned about this storm's after-effects on the ramp Sunday the 2nd. Maybe nuthin if the storm's a bust, but I don't have chains (my bad), and I think you'd need 4 bags of rock salt if it's dusted over. Not gonna carry that. My Tacoma is light and sits on fat tires; it loves to break loose and slide. I've got a snatch strap, and would only impose if absolutely necessary, but it would be nice to know if anyone else is cutt-addicted, throwing caution to the wind, and planning a dawn run Sunday morn.[/size][/black]

In the spirit of the tip/tricks post, here's a ramp tip (that most already know).

Don't spin too many RPM's up an icy ramp. Cuz when you hit hard surface, you really run the risk of ringing a driveline or a pinion gear.

Many 4WD shops will tell you that is a primary source of revenue in the winter months...
