Greetings,

As many of you know I am a regular at Roberts. I have fished it for the past two nights 4:00-5:30 and have done well for lots of small perch, and a few trout (I focus mostly on the perch). If you want trout the action picks up at about 5:15 and lasts about 15 minutes; try pink or white paddle bugs tipped with crawler for trout. The ice is about 3 inches and I would not call in completely solid, but it will be in the next couple of days. The perch will hit anything; jig only, meal worms, perch eyes, even light green and pink works as it gets dark. There are tons of perch, please catch them and eat them. I fear that, because Roberts froze early this year there may be a chance for a winter kill; to early to speculate, but indeed a possibility.

My son and I will be fishing at Island Park early in the morning by either Lakeside, or the dam. Stop by and chat if anyone is in the area. I hope to land a couple of hogs in the morning[sly] I will post a report sometime this weekend.

Thanks for the report.
Did you see/catch any banana trout? I would guess there could still be few of them in there.
Good luck at Island Park.

No Banana Trout[unsure] I was hoping they would continue to plant a few of them in Roberts. They are a neat fish and one of the highlights of watching fish through the ice at Roberts. Maybe a few stray ones remain?
