Got to Huntington at 7:30 or so, with Pikeman and his friend Phil joining me fifteen minutes later. The first hour or so of fishing were fast and furious, with Pikeman landing the first fish on a TubeDude jig tipped with fresh-cut bait. After that, the fishing was steady until about 10:30, when the wind started blowing, along with the snow. We fished till noon when we all decided to call it quits and get off the mountain before the main storm hit. The tigers seem to prefer chartreuse/glow jigs tipped with fresh-cut bait, maybe due to the light blanket of snow on the ice and partly cloudy conditions causing reduced visibility for the fish down below. Ice was 5"-6" thick where we fished. Sorry, we didn't keep track of the exact number of fish caught, but I'm guessing over 30 fish for the day.

P.S. Phil showed us how it's done the old-fashioned way (no electronics whatsoever). He kept pace with Pikeman numbers-wise, who was showing off his new LX-5 and causing all sorts of havoc with everybody else's electronics.

Looks like you guys had a great time. Thanks for sharing those pics! I'd love to get down there to Huntington one of these days, to add a tiger to my resume!

Looks like a fine time was had by all. I have a hunch that there will be lots more snow up there on Monday when I finally make it up that way.

Pictures of the Tigers with all the color in them never get old. Sounds like you made it up just in time to miss the slush and long hike through the snow to get to the lake.

Sounds like a very fun trip. Glad you guys made it back safely.

Kent,
I'm looking forward to your report. Curious to see if the slush monster will rear its ugly head out after this storm.
Great report George, sounds like you guys had a good morning. We were thinking about going up there yesterday too but were afraid of the snow coming in early. We ended up going down to TD house and buying some stuff[Wink]. That first picture of the tiger sure is a good looking picture. I've been using that rod and reel I bought from you and I've caught a couple of nice lakers with it.

Good to hear the combo is working out for you. I was going to have another tackle yard sale but TD beat me to it. This time, the yard sale proceeds will go to a bigger item, maybe an older ATV for winter ice fishing and summer fun.

I know how you feel about mountain snowstorms and being at 8000 ft when it hits. It wasn't too bad coming off the mountain even in my small fwd car.

Just so I don't get your thread off track, send me the details on that ATV in a PM, I might be interested.

Just edited my post. I am not selling my ATV, I am wanting to get one. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
