Full Version: Name the species contest #2

This has a few more pictures and I think it will be more difficult. Several of the fish may require a close look. Even though I took the pictures I think I would slipe up on a few of them.

I will tie half a dozen flies, ice jigs or send my favorite plastic jigs to the first person who identifies the fish in the pictures below. Winner will get to choose if they want flies, jigs, ice jigs, ice flies or a combination.

All of the species in the pictures were caught in Eastern Idaho. All of the fish in pictures were caught within the last 12 months.

Good Luck!

The rules are:
#1 All species in the pictures need to be identified in a single post before the end of December.

#2 Before you post your answer you must have made at least one other post on BFT Idaho within the last year under your registered username. It doesn't matter if the post was made only 5 minutes before you post your answer.

#3 If you don't identify all the species correctly the first try you can try again but you may only make one post per day.

#4 You don't have to name the exact strain of fish but you can't post a general answer like "trout" or "bass". An answer like "rainbow trout" or "cutthroat trout" will be sufficient. If you guess that a species is "Yellowstone cutthroat" and it is a "Bear Lake cutthroat" I will still count your answer correct because it is a cutthroat trout.

#5 Riverdog may still guess but the winner of the prize will be the first person besides Riverdog to get them all correct.

P.S. nothing intended in anyway about the sand creek spot, it's just that those fish are unique to a very limited number of locations from what I know of and I know that you love to fish roberts for them.
thanks for keeping up the entertainment to return back to this site, it helps a bunch. Will post when school no longer has a noose around my neck and I actually get out fishing.

Still no winner but everyone is getting close. If there isn't a winner in a few days I'll start to give some hints.
Iceman007, you came very close. You missed 2 and need to name the type of carp and suck.
[signature]
There still isn't a winner so I thought I would make it easier. First person to identify the fish in picture #13 wins. You need to be more specific than "Crappie"

Here are a list of the other species.

I do believe it's a white crappie. [unsure]
[signature]
Close but that isn't it.
[signature]
Ok then Black Crappie? [pirate]
[signature]
Yeah I think you are correct with the Black Crappie.
[signature]
Iliketofish,

Your the winner. That crappie is from Twin Lakes and could easily be mistaken for white Crappie. Send me a PM with what you would like and the mailing address.
