I was in Twin Falls in October at a gas station that was also the Grey Hound bus station buying a Quisnos sub, there I saw ICE rounding up illegal immigrants traveling on the bus. Up till that point I have only heard about such ICE activities.

I personally think it's time we empower our criminal courts to deport many of the criminals back to there own country and limit immigration. Remember only 2% of the illegal aliens are used for harvesting our crops. If we don't act now to secure our borders our kids kids will be living in crime & poverty that will be out of control.

Great site Craig, it sure has a lot of information about what they are doing to correct this problem but our government needs to do a lot more. Here is some more info that I'm sure you and others would be interested in reading too.

I was thinking about the consequences of illegal immigrants gone for good. Several things came to mind we would have to get used to paying $5.00 for a head of lettuce ,$6.00 lb for tomatoes. $10.00 a gallon for orange juice. The only reason these things are cheap right now is because the abuse these immigrants are willing to take pay wise.No american in their right mind would work for $1.00 an hour picking fruit and planting them. You can forget about any kind of fast food since americans think they are to good and are also to lazy to work the restaurants. Imagine waiting an hour or two for your meal and made badly at that.It also seems to me that 99% of the serial killers are americam caucasions at least we have them and the pedophiles. As for gangs its a good thing those illegal ones would be gone so we can have our bloods and crypts and the jamaican posses take over different places maybe your neighborhoods. As of the 2% harvesting crops are only immigrants thats a lot of crap go to a farm and see for yourselves. Why send the criminal one back they only come right back and bring in more freinds. Since they are here and here to stay and keep our economy running my suggestion is give them permits to work and have them pay Taxes like the rest of us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does anyone know how much money that would bring in! Fingerprint them so we can keep track of which one is julio or juan that way if they do commit a crime put their arse in jail.
[signature]
I think those figures are made up......come on be a little realistic, if a produce grower were to raise the price of every single tomato for example by just 10 cents that would increase there profits by millions a year and in turn they would be able to pay citizens of this country decent wages and medical benifits. We will never pay $5.00 a pound for fruit or vegtables because people would either stop eating them or grow it themselves.

Heres an idea everybody start a garden then maybe they will all go home when they dont have any job anymore[sly].
[signature]
Let me give you an example my freind have you been to any wendys or mcd's lately ? Seen the prices on the menu boards?I remember paying $3-4 for a combo meal now they start at $4-6 and that is regular size forget about super sizing it!!Why do you think the prices have gone up so much? I used to be in the fast food business and the american kids dont want to work jobs like this because it is demeaning to them and doesnt pay over $10 an hour to start. And on top of that they are lazy as hell!! The legal immigrants will take these so called demeaning jobs and be grateful. But sometimes it gets to a point were there is not enough immigrants to fill every positions causing employer to raise their wages to increase their employment rate and decrease their turnover. In the end they want their profits so prices get raised and every now and then they lower their price to get you in the door then they raise it again kinda like gas.
[signature]
I think most increases in goods/services is a direct result of gas prices....
[signature]
You bring up some very good points Ocean. Have you been to Wendover and Or Vegas lately to see who takes care of the casinos and all that goes with them?

Ocean is right with alot of what he is saying. I for one am not happy with all the negatives that they bring across the boarders with them I deal with it everyday! Drugs, Drugs, Drugs!

However, There is no way that many of the good citizens here in the USA are going to go work doing what the illegals are doing for what they are paying. Part of the problem is right here with the business owners. They know that if they hire and pay these folks and pay them as little as possible, They get out of paying workers compensation fees, insurance bennys and etc.

If you drive down Wall Ave in Ogden and see the homeless and Illegals standing at the side of the road near St Annes Shelter each day. They are looking for day labor jobs doing whatever they can to make money for there families. Many of our local business owners drive down and pick them up for the day to work. They pay them cash at the end of the day under the table and then they dont have to pay taxes on it and all the other fees that they need to pay if they were full time employees. AS Sad as this whole thing is, Our own american citizens are hurting us as much as the illegals are! We are all the same in the fact that if we can save some $$$$ then we are going to do it!

I would love to see these folks tracked and forced to pay the taxes that we have to pay. To speak the English language here in the Good old USA that we speak.

They are not going away. YEs they do alot here to help us. But if they want to be here, They need to live by the same rules and Laws that we all live by or they should go back to where we came from.

Most everyone of us are decendants of other countries. Many of our families came through Ellis Island years ago. But they bacame citizens and did what was expected of them to become citizens of the USA.

Ok, I am sure I have offended some one with my feelings. I am sure that some will agree with me. So, Let me have it if you want. Just my two cents on the whole thing[cool]
[signature]
[cool][#0000ff]No offense here. I have lived in different areas of the country and have lived through the shifting of ethnic and economic percentages everywhere...especially in southern Arizona. I have also traveled extensively in Mexico and have a definite read on the differences between our two countries.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I can certainly understand why any citizen of most of the Latin American countries would leave everything behind and risk injury or death to fight their way into our country. No brainer. In all fairness, if I were faced with many of the same living conditions, I would do whatever I needed to do in order to eke out a better living for my family.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I am probably more sympathetic than most to the plight of the migrants, because we have some mixed marriages within our family...and grandchildren with dual heritage. But, I am also incensed with the element among those migrants that comes here not for the work but for the opportunity to rip off, rob, rape, sell drugs and otherwise make a living illegally...after coming into the country illegally. They are a small percentage but they are the ones that comprise the biggest part of the news every evening.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]And, when law enforcement gets them off the street, the legal system puts them back out and back in business before the officer has the paperwork finished on the arrest. And, if they should end up in jail, where the majority of inmates are now non-anglo, they control the entire system within the walls and live better on the free room and board than most of their friends and family on the outside.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]What is Sad is to look at the flip side. I witnessed first hand what happens to citizens of the USA who commit even the most minor infraction in Mexico. SLAMMER! No trial, no lawyer, no communication with anyone in the USA. Nothing. You are suddenly in a lost world, where you have to fight for the meager "food" they dump in the overcrowded cells, and if you are weak you will be brutalized all day every day until you die or someone discovers you and helps you get out. And, that is just for something as inoffensive as a minor fender bender traffic accident...or tripping over a microphone cord in one of the sleazy clubs...or in one case, a guy having an overlooked .22 shell in the trunk of his car. It cost that guy six months of hell in jail, over $100,000 in fees and fines, his company, his health and his marriage.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Knowing what I do about the standards across the border, it makes my gut turn to see our hospitals going bankrupt around the country because of all of the free services they are forced to render. And, when illegals picket on the streets, for rights they do not even truly know or care about...it's just something to do...I wanna mow them down with my car. Whew. Sorry.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]What really tears it is that in some areas of Los Angeles there are schools and businesses that are flying the Mexican flog on top of the US flag...or even turning the US flag upside down. And they wonder why we "descriminate".[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]

I feel bad for those paranoid people that think the illegals are going to take over. Guess what they already did wake up and face reality!!!!!!!!! [Tongue] Let me give you an example of what happens when you legalize illegal immigrants and make them pay taxes . If you are cuban and you can somehow touch American soil you are automatically an american citizen no questions asked. You are given the same rights and benefits like those of us that were born here. Miami is 60% cuban like it or not go there and you will think you are in another country. They are legalized helped to find a home and a job and pay taxes like the rest of us. Before the cubans invaded miami the roads, schools, the ghettos were really bad!!! Not bad horrible.Go to miami now to the ghettos there they look better than most cities in utah . And i am not kidding!!! If these immigrants can be made to pay and be made for who they are they can be held responsible for their actions.Fingerprint them and give them a new identity if needed so we can keep track of who is who but make them accountable !!!! I dont think it would hurt to have a few extra billion or trillion worth of taxes added to our economy.
[signature]
I agree Brotha. They are here to stay and they are not going away.
If they will pay taxes, Register and Insure their cars, Learn english like their children are in the Schools that mine and your taxes are paying for then I can and Will learn to be more tolerant of them. I have no problem with that.

"when in america, do as the americans do"

Speak english, pay taxes, go fight for our country over in Iraq and other places.

I have been to down town Miami. Yes there are alot of cubans down there. I love there cigars and a good Mojito! All are welcome just do what a reponsible American is suppost to do!!!.

[black][size 3]I'm surprised somewhat that nobody mentioned this little item[/size][/black]. [black][size 3]It does seem appropriate here.[/size][/black]

[black][size 3]It's just something to wrap a nostril around while you're liesurely gnawing on some of those little chew toy like links and statistics that are being presented[/size][/black].

[black][size 3]BTW - My ancestors were not immigrants to this country - they were explorers. My family came "over here" when "over here" was refered to as the "New World" - my mother's side arrived in the mid 1500's and my father's side in the early 1600's (as documented by professional geneaologists and historians). I think I can call myself a local.[/size][/black]
[signature]
And since this side of the country used to be owned by the mexicans i do believe they could be considered locals too! From northern california nevada utah arizona new mexico texas all used to be mexico before the mexican war they werent the explorers they were the locals!
[signature]
The mexicans that lived in this part of the United States when it was annexed have been locals and US citizens for many many years. The people that are illegally crossing the border are in no way shape or form locals and never will be unless they are legalized. Just because this part of the USA use to belong to Mexico does not give them the right to come across the border when ever they want. It is a long read but check out the post I made above and all the problem illegals have caused and continue to cause every day. No one here is complaining about the folks that come here to make a better life for themselves and their families, it is the ones that are here just to cause problems. The ones running drugs, robbing, raping and killing people and have no good intentions. If the good mexicans would just learn english and try to becomes citizens, no one would be complaining. Until that happens this is how law abiding locals feel about it and you should too because you pay taxes, it is costing BIG dollars every year because they(illegals) are a drain to our economy. WH2

I dont have a problem with people coming to this country in a legal manner. But if he or she slunk and slithered across our broader to be here illegally their a criminal and should be treated as such.
And if they come here to take advantage of the system and legal citizens in need suffer or die because of it. Well,, their lucky I'm not the judge they may face someday for crossing our broaders illegally. I strongly believe in capital punishment...
As far as employers that hire illegals,, HANG EM. HANG EM HIGH!
[signature]
I can't help but respect those that will leave home and family and all they know to go to a foreign place to try and make a better life for themselves and their families. That is what the majority of the illegal immigrants are.

I have a major problem with the shave headed, tatooed, hoodie & baggy pants wearing trash that come along with the good ones. I'm not saying we don't have that kind here that are citizens but if we could just find a way to keep that junk out of our country we would not be that bad off.

Just like someone noted in an earlier post, a lot of the jobs that we spoiled brat americans are too damned lazy to take are being done by these immigrants who are proud to do a days hard physical work.

I know illegal immigration is a major problem but I don't have any ideas for a solution so I'm not gonna bitch about them
[signature]
Tom I dont refer to anyone that crosses this nation's broaders illegally (breaking laws by doing so) as an immigrant, each and every one of them are criminals as are those that hire illegals.
I also believe strongly that anyone that knowingly provides support to illegals such as medical, housing, financial, etc... should face a first time minimal sentence of 10 years without a chance of parole. If that dont cause them to reverse their actions, drop a 30 year sentence on them the second go-round. Let them share a prison cell and yard with those they so happily supported.

The deal is, you and I dont have to come up with a solution to the problem of illegals crossing our broaders and raping this country for everything they can take, we hire/elect those to do that. If those we elect cant do the job why wait 4 years to rehire/elect someone else to do the job. Fire them now and hire new. A soft hearted nation is what taken us into the situation we are now.

As far as illegals working jobs lazy Americans wont. Well its simple, let the fruit rot on the vine, so to speak..
[signature]

I don't have a problem with Mexican's, Latinos, Euros etc. What I do have a problem with is people breaking the law. If they come illegally, they should be deported period. We can justify anything, but when we endorse illegal activity, we do our country an injustice.

Ask the Mexican government what they do with illegal immigrants from Guatemala.
