I finished my last final yesterday and I decided that today would be my day off, devoted exclusively to ice fishing - my reward for a semester of hardwork.

So I have always wanted to fish PaliSades and Fuzzy's report finally convinced me last night. So I left Provo at 5:30 and got to PaliSades by 7am. First impression, such a small lake to hold so many big Tigers.

So I made 5 or 6 holes set up the fish finder and dropped my first line with a 4.5 inch white tube jig with meal worm and wham - 23.5 inch Tiger. In it's attempt to fight, it accidently swam right through the whole so I lucked out with only a 10 sec fight or so. A really pale Tiger or I would have been mounting it - really beautiful body structure and shape but very very pale coloring, as commented in Fuzzy's report.

The first 2 hours were really good with 4 or so 16-22" Tigers, and a few small rainbows. FUzzy showed up at like 8 or so and it was great fishing by such a pro. What a great guy and way fun to fish with. Thanks again to Fuzzy for all the fun and advice.

The fishing got really slow - got into a few schools of little rainbows and a tiger here and there but the fishing died. Decided that it was time to try somewhere else. Fuzzy told to try a nearby spot so I off I went.

I got to this lake and drilled holes all over and could not find any fish on my fish finder. Finally on my fourth stop, my pole was nearly pulled out of my bucket before I grabbed it. The fish didn't show in the finder as the hole was a few feet away from the finder. I don't know how he didn't show up because he had shoulders like Ivan Drago. What a fight this rainbow gave me - it took me about 5 minutes to get it in. I got him to the hole three times before he stripped out half my reel - so fun. Biggest bow I have ever caught and probably the most weight I have caught while ice fishing. 21.5 inches and probably 5-6 lbs.

That was the only fish I got at the lake the 4 hours I was there - tried 8 or so different spots with only one other bite. The one fish was worth it though.

A great ice fishing day - 2 huge fish, great compmany, nice ice fishing weather and no work. What more can I ask for?!

Yeah, that lake was alright. The quantity sucked, but as we discussed, one great fish is better than 10 planters. Thanks for the advice - it's nice having some friendly competition for the ice tourny.

Fish lake would be fun (but you know that I need some help with those Yube northerns).

Thanks again - keep those reports coming.

I thought that was you down there. I was down on the North end of the lake. I caught fish, but no tigers. I was there for the big tigers. Iced many big cutts and bows, and several little guys. I had the same thought as you did. Big fish in this little pond?

I ended up not fishing alone when a local came out and joined me on the ice. He reads this site all the time and new much about it. Hope you register so you can pop in and say hi once in awhile.

Anyway, congratulations on the monster tiger.
