I shot a drake hooded merganser the other day, i have heard that they are kinda rare?? just wondering if it is worth getting stuffed. any input is greatly appreciated.

Cool ducks for sure. That is the only merganser I would claim shooting! Not super rare, but you sure don't see them every day. If it was a nice looking bird, I'd get it stuffed.

I have to dissagree with TKB. Hooded mergansers are actually quite rare around here. Not very many killed in the last 10 years. Definately a stuffer.[cool]
