Two of us fished Mackay Reservoir yesterday from about 8:00 to 2:30. All together we caught over 50 fish. They were mostly Kokane about 10 to 11 inches, but we also caught about 10 or 15 trout including one about 17 inches, and one decent brookie.
It didn't seem to matter too much what we used, we got bites on about everything we tried; jigs, swedish pimples, ice flies etc. Most of the time I was using a silver and bright orange swedish pimple tipped with a meal worm. Most of them were only about 2 or 3 feet off of the bottom, and movement seemed to be important. The bites were extremely light.
We weren't very creative with our choice of location, just right in the middle of all the shanties by the boat dock. (we had to resist the urge to use one, most of them were empty [Smile])
All in all it was well worth the drive!

Thanks for the report. Sounds like you had a good time.

I hope with the low water some Kokes survive for another year. I love Kokes after they reach 12" or so.
