Finally decided on Rockport this morning it was -6F at 7:30 am and a balmy 12F degrees at 1:30. Caught 1 pretty nice trout and a few perch. The morning started with the tiny 5" perch being the only fish we found. About 9 am a school of bigger perch came in and we caught 1 11 inches and several in the 9 in range. Fished about 200 yds off the boat ramp in 47 ft of water. Not fast and furious by any means but not a bad day for first trip of 2008.

What was the ice thickness at Rockport?

Ice is a good 4-5 " out from the boat ramp.. Snowmobiles are on the ice..

250 yds out from the ramp it was 5 to 6" Dan. I had my 600# wheeler on it and it was fine.[cool]
