It's completely frozen, and the temps have been BITTER.
I saw a few snowmobiles race accross the other day. The snow is about 18" at least, and there is slush under that.

The deep snow can turn a great day of fishing into a lot of work for your wheeler. BE prepared to either keep digging it out or if things are cold and froze enough which it should be, you might ride on top.
Good Luck

some places we drilled not too far out into the main bay (heading toward haws point) at the marina were only 3 1/2 inches on tuesday. Be careful if you take the wheeler!

Man I hope not. Hopefully it keeps snowing and keeps those things off the ice. Last year when we didn't get any snow until late and the 4-wheelers were on Strawberry, I never seen such a collective bunch of inconsiderate idiots in my life. How people can bring a full 12 pack on the ice but can't carry an empty one off is absolutly moronic.
Some moron on a 4-wheeler buzzed by my shelter, last year, I looked out the window just in time to see him finish off his beer and then throw it over his shoulder. That was just 1 of 5 or 6 incidents I had with 4-wheelers last year and 0 incidents with snowmobilers. I know there are idiots on snowmobiles too.

Heres another one. Last year a group of people on about 8 or 9 4-wheelers were fishing about 150 to 200 yards from us. They packed up and left around 4pm. We fished for another hour or two. On our way out we had to go by where they were fishing. It looked like they left every possible piece of trash they had with them. Everything from beer cans and bottles and the cardboard boxes they came in to potato chip bags, coke bottles, sandwich bags, worm containers, you name it they left it. It made me sick. I jam packed the sled I was towing with trash left from those Pigs.

Not all 4 wheeler people are slobs and I've been buzzed by more snowmobiles than anything

It is really to bad that some @$^#%$&#@'s have to give the rest of us a bad name no matter the toy of choice. I have seen it not only on the ice but during all seasons. [unsure]

I would say that the ice is not safe going across the lake to Renegade yet but. Some friends went on the road on a wheeler on new years and then fished renegade and did real well. The had to leave the wheelers on the shore though, there was only about 4" of ice.
