TEACH KIDS HOW TO FISH
Volunteer training starts in February<br />
Want to help a group of kids have one of the best experiences they'll have all summer?<br />
Then sign up to become a youth fishing club volunteer!<br />
The Division of Wildlife Resources is looking for volunteers to teach six to 13 year olds about fish, the places fish live and how to catch them.<br />
Volunteers are needed in communities stretching from Logan to Washington City. The following communities have youth fishing clubs, and each club needs volunteers to help:<br />
Logan (two clubs)<br />
Brigham City (one club)<br />
Ogden (one club)<br />
Roy (one club)<br />
Clinton (two clubs)<br />
Syracuse (one club)<br />
Clearfield (one club)<br />
Kaysville (one club)<br />
Bountiful (two clubs)<br />
Murray (two clubs)<br />
Riverton (one club)<br />
South Jordan (one club)<br />
Herriman (one club)<br />
Highland Glen (one club)<br />
Orem (one club)<br />
Spanish Fork (two clubs)<br />
Salem (one club)<br />
Saratoga Springs (one club)<br />
Payson (one club)<br />
Washington City (one club)
Anyone can help<br />
Adult volunteers make the clubs possible, and the clubs will be formed only if enough adults sign up to help.<br />
Volunteer training takes only a single evening to complete. Depending on the community, the one-evening trainings will take place between the first of February and mid-March...<br />

LEARN 2007 BIG GAME DRAWING ODDS<br />
The odds of drawing a Utah big game permit in 2007 are now available in a Division of Wildlife Resources report.<br />
"Drawing odds usually don't change drastically from year to year, so I think hunters who are applying for a 2008 permit will be interested in seeing the report," says Judi Tutorow, wildlife licensing coordinator for the DWR. "And the best part is, you can view it for free."<br />
If you have access to the Internet, you can view and download the 2007 Big Game Odds Report for free.<br />
To find the report, visit the big game information page at wildlife.utah.gov/hunting. Once you're there, scroll down to the big game statistics & drawing odds portion of the page. Click on the 2007 options, and the report should pop up.<br />
The report is also available at DWR offices. You can read the report for free or buy a copy for $21.
Must apply by Jan. 31<br />
Applications for 2008 Utah big game hunting permits will be accepted until Jan. 31. You can apply through the Internet (wildlife.utah.gov) until 11 p.m. on Jan. 31.<br />
You can also apply over the phone at (801) 538-4700. Phone-in applications will be must be received no later than 5 p.m. on Jan. 31.<br />
