Ok, there have been a couple of posts on wolves that went wacky but i have more fuel for my side of the fire as well as others.

While watching a large piece of land in Paradise, UT early this morning, looking for elk, i noticed some smaller animals "mooving" really fast across the face of the ridges chasing one another. I was looking at them through 12x binocs and told my friend i had seen 2 coyotes. He was all over it with the 60x spotting scope wondering if we could get close enough for his .17 HMR. After he found them in the scope, he said "they ain't no coyotes, them are wolves!" I called his bluff and about fell out of my truck seat when i focused the lens. They were DEFINATELY 100% wolves! 2 very large mature ones. We watched them for over an hour and the landowner i was talking to finally called me back about the elk.
We drove back down to his house to show him where the elk were(he has a landowner tag) and we started talking about the wolves we saw. Low and behold, his best friend is a helicopter pilot/government trapper and there is alot more going on up there than anyone thinks. He told me that last year 2 lion hunters hunters came across a huge male with a radio collar(same exact area we watched them today). He also told me they killed one right across the road to the south of that one last year. He ALSO told me there were 4 in the canyon leading to Porcupine dam 2 years ago. Some food for thought... Had we got permission to go after my cow today, we would have had to come down the ridge right on top of them.[Wink] 2+2=[sly]

I hope your able to get your elk Brody and thanks for the info on the wolves. It sure isn't surprising, we all knew it was just a matter of time before they showed up in bigger numbers, sounds like the beginning of a pack[Sad].

[#808000]It had to be a Yodie. Those wolves were never supposed to leave the boundaries of where they were introduced. LMAO.[/#808000]

Stumbled onto a wolf in the Uintas 5 - 6 years ago. Maybe 150 ft away. Maybe. He looked at me; I looked at him; reached for my camera on my hipbelt ever so slowly (for a hip shot no less), but he was gone.

Big and silver. Just beautiful. Still have a visual of that like it was yesterday.
