My brother and I got to Rockport about 8:15 yesterday morning. Started using an ice fly topped with a wax worm. Fished directly out from the boat ramp in the middle of the lake. No sooner did I get my pole in the water then I got a hit. It was like that all day for me. Caught 21 perch ranging from 6 to 10 inches. Some were small but I was fising in 60 feet of water right at the bottom so by the time I got them to the surface, I had to keep them all as they bubbled up. Many had eggs. Once I caugt one, I used there fish eyes and then pretty much the same eye all day. It was very windy for about an hour and then it became very nice. Overall it was a fun day. Hon estly, I was pretty pooh poohed on Rockport until yesterday, now I have a good idea how to fish them. I found if there were not times when I was getting any bites, I let my line go to the bottom only to find out that my bait was laying on the bottom. I had about a 12 inc leader so I just cranked up my line about 10 inches and they were all on the bottom. Had many trout suspended 20 feet down on my fishfinder but no trout.
