[] finally made it up .. took off from ogden area friday mornin dark thirty with my best bud duffman.. the roads sucked all the way till green river .. they were covered in black ice an snow.. hooked up with new bud "ash" -- yeah hes the man..we than headed over to the lost dog area.. ended up gettin on the ice bout 11:30ish am.. started fishin in the shallows ended up in 50 ft plus the rest o day waitin till the sun went down ... about three hours in duffman bangs his 1st burbot ever.. was 26 in long an just over 3 lbs--turned out to be the biggest burb of the trip.. few minutes later fishamaniac lands his 1st burbot ever.. after that it was pretty slow till the sun started droppin down.. it was like hittin a switch .. they were bitin pretty steady all night long.. the bite was way different than most .. the burb tend to hit it and stay with it .. therefore we called it the burbot bounce.. you look over at the six poles your fishin with.. an 1 or more could be bouncein away... anyhow we fished all friday night till the sun came up saturday.. moved out to the deeper stuff sat day caught an assortment of burbot ,fatty bows , cutbows, an baby macs.. stayed till sat night 8 pm an headed home .. an finally got the burbot off the species list !!! ended up bringin home close ta 40 burbot 4 the dinner table.. as far as taste goes... excellent!!!! burbot the other white meat.. fish on.. fishamaniac.. hopefully my pics turned out ok ..still tryin to master it..thanks..

It looks like I need to get up there, but we have been waiting for the rest of the lake to freeze.

How did you cook up the Burbot? My brother-in-law tried to fry a couple up and they didnt fair to well (hes not that good of a cook to start) I am hoping to get up there this weekend and find Ash out doin what he does best, Slayen the Burbot.

good fishin with you guys sucks fishin wasnt a little better but the bsin was great we hit another spot the next night and ended it at 11pm with 64burbot and 2 pup lakers amybe catch you on the big water fishin for a real fish[].ash

[shocked] how do you cook burbot? any way ya want pal.. i believe that it would be very hard to mess up a burbot meal unless you boiled it in water or blackened it for some bizzaro reason .. my choice dipped in cornmeal & seasonings of your choice fried hot in peanut oil.. as far as Ash doin what he does best.. slayin burbot is just 1 of many.. 4 hes eagerly awaitn 4 the ice to make it down the lake.. fishamaniac..
