[cool][#0000ff]Okay, it has been moved and seconded that we have our on-ice perch jerkin' and cookin' get-together at Yuba on Saturday Feb. 16th. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]It was Bassrods' idea so he will share organizational duties with Pikeman, who had a great kids program at Jordanelle last year.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Unless something happens to change to location or other details, we will start fishing about 8 AM on the 16th, at the Painted Rocks area of Yuba. About 11 AM, those who are on the hook for filleting and cooking fish and other goodies will set up in the lower parking area near the ramp.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I will leave it up to Pikeman as to how he wants to organize the kid's contest.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Rather than having everybody post on the board about whether or not they will show up, bring something or whatever, let's send PM's to Bassrods or Pikeman and they can keep a list of who, what and whatever. We will edit the list as new names come in. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I will kinda oversee the chaos, and I will make sure we bring plenty of BFT stickers and maybe some BFT goodies as prizes, or drawing stuff.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Send PM's to:[/#0000ff]

Whats with the unhappy face??
Yuba makes me happy - well at least ice fishing does!
Hope I can make it.

[cool][#0000ff]Sorry. Bad choice of icons. I changed it.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Actually, I was projecting the image of doom and gloom for the poor fishy population. They gonna get whacked.[/#0000ff]

Maybe we can keep an updated list of things people are going to bring (or what we need) on this post so we know what to bring.

The turn off to painted rocks is between mile post 15 and 16 on hwy 28

Last years Perchathon was a great get together. I was able to meet a bunch of BFTers' and had a great time. Having it at Yuba this year should be just as fun and maybe a few more perch.
My buddies son won one of Pikemans Sportsman Warehouse prizes last year, he was thrilled.
I'll be there for sure and maybe my buddy and his team again. That makes 7.
I'll PM pikeman with what I can bring.

[cool][#0000ff]I'll probably put up a temporary "sticky" post starting about the first of February. By then we should have a pretty good handle on things.[/#0000ff]

I have not been fishing much lately thanks to familial responsibilities, and the lack of a kitchen pass thanks to a endless list of honey-dos (grrrrrr...) BUT I definitely will go to this perchathon! See ya all there!

[cool][#0000ff]Good to "hear" from you Paul. How are the implants working?[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]It would be good to see you on the water again, even if the water is hard.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I would be willing to bet that you will do your part to help DWR harvest a few of those wascally wallies this year.[/#0000ff]

Air Force guy new to Utah, i will try to make it...it would be nice to meet everyone from BFT.

Looking forward to meeting some BFT members on the 16th of Feb. hope the weather co-operates and the fish bite. Until then good fishing to everyone.[cool]

This sounds like a great opportunity to invite some of my grandchildren to go ice fishing. I may be able to talk some of their fathers to come along as well!

Thanks for the heads up TubeDude! My implants (for those who must know what that is... it is cochlear implants, not the other kind *Breast implants*) are going great! My hearing is real acutely clear... the higher the microphone volume range is broadened, better I tend to hear just about everything.
Right now I have had this implant since August of 2006, my listening skills as far as speech, and comprehension go, it is going pretty good. I can hear just about everything that a normal person hears. I now have come right at 15 decibals hearing range. This is a far cry from when I was a profoundly deaf man with a 120 decibals loss.
So you see psychologically things have been like, ... "what a long strange trip its been indeed"- Jerry Garcia of Grateful Dead... line of thinking, having to relearn everything, becoming like a little child listening and learning the sounds around you. Listening and identifying... that sort of thing. It's been a real profound experience for me to understand people right away, and to listen and identify with the beautiness of the music and its wide range of sounds, and vocal ranges.[

I , before I had the implant done, I was really stoned deaf and could not have realized that there was indeed a real colorful world of sounds out there. That lead me to my exploration of sounds, and wanting to know and understand my children better, this has been a great success... too good that I have to listen to their endless yakking about nothing that goes on in school and with their friends... wow I didn't know those women could talk that much! So I just turn down my mic and nod...[

It's been a real delight to turn up my range of sound, and listen to what goes on in the mountians and on the lake. Listen for the little critters and deer, elk, and other animals. I do get annoyed when I hear other people BS'ing away on the other side of the mountian that is if the winds are right. I love to hear the splash of the fish, and the scream of my reel.
The only thing is, I have to build up higher tolerance for much wider range of volume... it just is unnerving that things can be that loud in real life... wondering if it was just me or you hearing people have built up higher tolerance to loud noises. It's just something I have to work on.[crazy].
I look forward to hearing the grating sound of the auger on Feb. 16th...[cool]
