I'm working on the west side of utah lake about 5 miles south of the pump house. Is there a good place to fish on that side? I plan on taking my lunch hour and trying to catch some fish. Any info would help alot. How is the fishing over by the pump house?

[cool][#0000ff]The "pump house". Are you referring to the pumps at the outlet into the Jordan River?[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]If so, there have been a few reports of folks catching lots of small bluegills and a few small crappies and white bass right in front of the pumps. There are also sporadic catches below the pumps, on the river side, and in the basin and channel to the south of the pumps, past the cross bridge at the park.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]If you want to drive further south, there is the Saratoga Springs (Pelican Point) marina. White bass move in and out of the protected harbor and a couple of walleyes have been reported by guys who fish it early on a quiet midweek morning before it gets busier.[/#0000ff]

I think I know where you're talking about. I caught a very fat channel cat I weighed at 8 lbs. out there with worms coated in liver paste. Mostly though it's bullheads, small sunfish, and carp. I don't know about fishing in this cold weather though. Those small beetle spin spinnerbaits are good for white bass.
