I harvested some wood ducks this year and would like to find a good and affordable taxidermist in Utah County. My friends duck guy wants $175 for a duck and that seems very hight to me but I would like my wood ducks done right. Any advice regarding a good and affordable taxidermist would be helpful.

$175 is not a bad deal for a good quality mount. You can find some cheaper but, the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for", couldn't be more true. Good taxidermists know the going rates, and know what their services are worth. As rare as Woodies are around here, might as well get a good mount the first time, may not have a 2nd chance.

I would also have to agree, $175 is a pretty good deal. See if he will do the pair for $300

With taxidermy you get what you pay for. If you find someone that does it cheap you might be disappointed in what it looks like when you get it back. If you provide your own piece of drift wood you might save a little money. gshorthair
